I'm Stéphanie Ayusawa and I produce this podcast to record these stories.

THE STORY OF ZERO TO ONE ✳
Deep-down, I was probably jealous.
A few years ago, I was sick of all the baby photos my friends were sending me, judging people who chose to focus on their kids over their careers and I was obnoxiously anticipating future pregnancy announcements.
February 2021, I noticed I was getting out of breath and my period was late. The rest is pretty obvious: I took a pregnancy test during my lunch break and it was positive. I spent the rest of the day preparing for a presentation and went straight to my therapist after work.
October 2021, as I was about to start my maternity leave, my father suddenly told me his cancer has spread. He passed away three months later. My baby was only two months old, and I was in a very very bad shape. It took me months to heal but today, I'm ok.
Yet, there’s one phrase I couldn’t get out of my head
« You’ll see, the first twelve months are intense,
but after that it gets easier »
A phrase one of my husband’s friends said ended up drastically shaping my expectations for my first year of parenting. And yes, it is hard. Hard for countless reasons though not constantly and not in the same way for everyone. That’s when I felt an urgent need to understand how other parents were experiencing their journey.
There’s real power in sharing stories. I started this podcast to create a space where people can open up about their experiences and help anyone facing similar challenges feel a little less alone.
This podcast is also a tribute to my papa, who loved his job and always worked with passion.
